Dressers. They don’t seem like such a potential issue once you start preparing for your moving day. But once the moving day does arrive – you will come to realize that dressers are more fragile then they look. And that is why they require additional attention and effort to pack. In the following video, we will teach you how to pack, wrap and move a dresser in a manner that is both safe and efficient! Also if you scroll down, you will find the details for every step of the process, as shown in the video.
What we need:
- Tape
- Moving blankets
- Stretch wrap
And here is how you can pack, wrap, and move a dresser!
Think about everything in advance. Dressers are bulky, but still pretty easy to damage – even if they don’t seem that way. That is why you need to stay concentrated during this process. The first thing you should do is to empty it. Heavy items or ones that can shift during the transportation can cause problems, damage to your dresser or even items that surround it. Also, it might be a good idea to clean your dresser before you start preparing it for transportation. Dirt might not scratch it, but it can still cause problems. And that is something you will want to avoid at all costs.
1# Moving blankets
Yes. You need them in order to ensure everything goes smoothly. Professional packing materials are your best friends when you start thinking about ways to pack, wrap, and move a dresser. In our video, we have used two blankets, but quantity actually depends on your dresser’s size. The bigger the dresser – the more surface you have to cover.
Take your moving blankets and cover every inch of the dresser. Take special care of its edges, handles, and legs. These points are what gets damaged the most, so make sure you do it properly.
2# Tape
Moving blankets won’t stand in their place unless you tighten them with something. And that is precisely where some tape can come in handy. Use it to secure everything and keep it where it is supposed to be. Again – check twice if handles, legs, and edges are nicely secured. By now, everything should be tight and completely covered in moving blankets.
3# Stretch wrap
If you are looking for some maximum security for your dressers – the best way to pack, wrap and move a dresser is by using some stretch wrap. It will hold everything in place and lower the risks of scratches or anything else for that matter. And all you have to do is to cover everything in it nicely. That’s it. And once you do, and you can feel that everything is just where it is supposed to be under your fingertips – use some tape and make sure nothing moves. This way you will ensure everything goes smoothly and trouble free. Just the way you like it!
