Reviews, Reviews, Reviews...
When selecting a moving service the most critical part of your research should be reading through the reviews on social media and major sites like Google, Better Business Bureau and HomeAdvisor. All consumers have free access to reviews and experiences shared by previous customers online and this should be looked at before making a selection. There are a few key points to keep in mind as you begin to cypher through all the reviews:
Consistency of Reviews: Make sure that the reviews are consistent with dates and positive experiences. Having a few bad reviews is normal because it shows a company’s legitimacy since every move does not go according to plan. If there are a number of bad reviews try to see if there is a similar underlying issue so that you could be prepared for your moving experience. Having a lot of bad reviews is never a good sign and you may want to be hesitant before selecting that company.
Similar Reviews: Identifying a pattern of generic comments could also mean that the reviews are not authentic or genuine and may be paid for by the company. This same principle applies to bad reviews because there may be a common issue causing a bad experience that could be resolved during the booking process. It is always in the consumer’s best interest to be as forward and truthful about their move as possible to avoid any miscommunications or inaccurate quotes.
Authenticity of User: Is the user who left the review verified or do they have other followers or reviews? Keep in mind that some companies pay for their reviews so it is always important to look for user authenticity when reading the reviews. You are looking for real customers who had a real experience with the company, not a friend or relative who is helping the company out by leaving a fake review.
Response from Owner: Take note to if the owner or operator of the business is responding to the good and bad reviews. If the company is very responsive to reviews that generally means customer service is a priority for their business. This should be a huge deciding factor because communication for a move is everything and makes the difference between a great or bad moving experience.
